The French general staff confirmed to AFP this Tuesday, October 10, the first departures of French soldiers and equipment from Niger “in accordance with ongoing planning and coordination.”
“The first departures are taking place”, we learned from the French armies, confirming the announcement made the day before by the Nigerien military regime according to which operations for the withdrawal of some 1,400 French soldiers present in Niger would begin on Tuesday, under escort of the Nigerian army.
