A restaurant profile in Stockholm is sentenced to 1.5 years in prison for having embezzled money from a charity that caters to homeless pensioners, Expressen reports.

The woman became involved in the organization in 2019 and quickly gained a central position as operations manager and chairman. She thus gained access to the association’s accounts and is said to have embezzled over 1.6 million kroner for private consumption, such as visits to restaurants and bars.

She is now sentenced to prison for gross infidelity against the principal by the Stockholm district court, and must also pay damages of just over SEK 1.6 million.

She is sentenced against her denial and claims that she had no criminal intent.
