Olympic gold medalist Agneta Andersson has passed away at the age of 62. The former canoeist died in hospital after being ill with cancer.
Andersson is one of Sweden’s greatest Olympic athletes of all time. She has won three Olympic golds – two in Los Angeles in 1984 and one in Atlanta in 1996.
Andersson was awarded the Svenska Dagbladet’s gold medal in 1996 together with Susanne Gunnarsson. Together they won Olympic gold in Atlanta.
