“Can have own agenda”

In September, we were met with news about shootings basically every day – but the shooting in Jordbro on 28 September stands out.
The police find no connection between the victim and gang criminals, and Leif GW does not think it is a case of accidental shooting.
– The suspicion that you cannot dispel is that it may be that he is working according to his own agenda, he says.

At the end of September, a man was shot dead in Jordbro, south of Stockholm. A few days after the murder, a 22-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of murder and aiding and abetting murder.

There have also been reports that the suspects could possibly be linked to the murder the day before of a man in his 60s in Åkersberga north of Stockholm. The shootings took place amid escalating gang violence, but none of the victims have any ties to criminal networks.

– It’s a bit of a tricky matter, because it opens up several possibilities, says Leif GW Persson.

Links to the extreme right

The suspected perpetrator has a background within the violent extreme right and both victims have an immigrant background.

– He has a Nazi past, very active Nazi despite his young age. And he shouldn’t be in these contexts. Because this gang crime is characterized by a very strong ethnicity and it is at least not Nazi if I do say so. And this, of course, confuses.

Own agenda

The police have talked about a mistaken shooting, but if the perpetrator has no connections to gang crime, it could be about something completely different, says Leif GW.

– The suspicion that you cannot dispel is that it may be that he is working according to his own agenda.

GW also makes the connection to the Laserman who chose his victims based on parentage.

– I don’t know if that is so, I want to underline that. But it is a working hypothesis that you cannot easily dismiss, he continues.

Blasting as revenge?

After the shooting in Jordbro, an explosive device detonated outside the suspected perpetrators’ home. And it is also something that further confuses the investigation, says Leif GW Persson.

– If he has now shot unrelated people, what reason is there to take revenge on him. One possibility that cannot be ignored is that he also instigated it himself.
