The police have opened an investigation into murder, alternatively manslaughter, after a mushroom picker found human remains in a forest in Söderhamn.
It was on Saturday afternoon that the mushroom picker raised the alarm about the find because he suspected that the remains could come from a human.
When the police arrived at the scene, they were able to determine that it was human remains and the area was cordoned off. A technical investigation began and will continue on Sunday.
According to the police, it is too early to answer how long the remains have been at the scene, and it is also not known who the person may be. A forensic examination must be carried out, the police write on their website.
