In the statement, it was stated that the epicenter of the 5.5 and 6.2 magnitude earthquakes were 29 and 35 kilometers away from the center of Herat’s Zinda Can district, respectively, and that the tremors occurred at a depth of 11.4 and 10 kilometers underground.
USGS announced that another 6.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in Zindah Jan, in the northwestern region of Afghanistan, close to the border with Iran and Turkmenistan.
