The search for a 15-year-old boy who disappeared in Alingsås has continued overnight into Saturday.
– The search is ongoing and will continue throughout the night. We will find him, says Martin Hallberg, duty officer at the police, early on Saturday morning.
Late on Friday afternoon, the police cordoned off a wooded area, which is about one kilometer from the 15-year-old’s home. There, according to local media, a search operation was carried out with, among other things, dogs.
The police officer on duty, Martin Hallberg, cannot give any information just before four o’clock on Saturday morning if the search has yielded any results.
– I cannot answer whether there has been any progress or not. But we continue the search.
Hallberg cannot say how many resources are involved in the search during the night.
– I can’t, we never state that. But there are several resources with different abilities. Then it’s the case that we can’t use some of the resources in the dark, so the ability looks a little different than when it’s light, says Martin Hallberg.
He does not know if any more suspects were detained during the night.
The trail of the 15-year-old boy ends on Monday afternoon, when he left his home in Alingsås.
He has been reported missing since Tuesday, and a preliminary investigation into suspected kidnapping is ongoing.
The police suspect that the boy has been taken against his will and three men of different ages have been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping.
On Friday, one of the men was released as the evidence against him was deemed to have weakened. At the same time, another person was detained, also reasonably suspected of kidnapping.
