According to a lawsuit filed in a California court, Musk failed to appear when he was called to testify on September 15.
According to the SEC, Musk did not express displeasure with the summons until two days before the scheduled date, when he made “dubious objections” and announced that he was “not going to show up.”
The summons is connected to an investigation where the SEC is investigating possible securities violations during the period when Musk bought shares in Twitter. Musk took over the company in October last year. The SEC says it has not yet determined whether anyone has violated any laws yet.
According to the CNCB, Thursday’s lawsuit is seen as a way to force Musk to appear at the hearing.
