On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a speech in connection with a political forum in the city of Valdai in the western parts of the country.
In his speech, he again accused the countries of the West of being behind the war in Ukraine.
– The war, which was started by the regime in Kiev with active support from the West, has already been going on for ten years, he says according to the AFP news agency.
The nuclear threat: “No one will have a chance to survive”
He also repeated his earlier claims that the invasion of Ukraine was launched to stop a war, something which has been pointed out as lies by the countries in the West.
– Our main task is to build a new world, says Putin and accuses the West of wanting to create a hegemony.
– The West always needs an enemy.
In his speech, Vladimir Putin also talked about the Russian nuclear arsenal. He emphasizes that the Kremlin sees no need to change the rules of Russian nuclear doctrine, but nevertheless reiterated the nuclear threat to the West.
– In a retaliatory attack, so many robots appear that not a single enemy will have a chance to survive, he says according to the Russian state news agency Ria.
