“In order to protect the identity of the (complainants), we cannot release any further information,” Sarnia police said in an email.
Levesque’s bail hearing was held Tuesday in a Sarnia courtroom, but most of what was said during it, including why he was released, is protected by a publication ban. The identity of two complainants is also protected by a second publication ban.
Levesque was released on $250 lease, but with several rules in place. He can’t have any contact with the complainants or be at their homes, jobs or schools, and he can’t be within five meters of any place where children younger than 16 would be expected to be such as a public park, schoolyard or library.
The only place listed as an exception is his church. Levesque is also banned from having any weapons.
The case returns to court later this month. The charges haven’t been tested in court.
