Nine charged after several bombings – linked to gang conflict

Nine men are charged with a series of bombings against various addresses in the Stockholm area in January.
– I judge that the targets for the explosions and door shooting in this indictment have connections to one of the criminal networks in Stockholm, says senior prosecutor Alexandra Bittner.

Prosecutors have filed charges against nine people suspected of having contributed to public destruction through explosions in Akalla, Upplands Väsby and Bro in January this year.

The defendants are men and were between 17 and 30 years old at the time of the crimes.

Seven of the men are also charged with serious or particularly serious offenses against the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.

The indictment also includes a door shooting, a serious weapons crime in Södertälje on January 25 and a serious drug crime in Kungsängen on January 30.

– I judge that the targets for the explosions and door shooting in this indictment have connections to one of the criminal networks in Stockholm. Those who are charged have connections to a different extent to an opposing network, says senior prosecutor Alexandra Bittner in a press release.
