Book sale to boost railway museum plan

The next step in raising funds for the restoration, preservation and relocation of the historic Mt. Pleasant Lake Erie and Northern rail station will be a big book sale.

The Brant Railway Heritage Society is working to raise money to continue repairs on the old LE&N. station, which was built in 1916.

In the spring, through fundraising and grants, the group was able to repair the roof of the 105-year-old building, which it hopes to relocate and turn into a railway and community museum.

The two-day book sale will be at 755 Mt. Pleasant Rd. in the Mt Pleasant Nature Park in the old Fish Hatchery building and be hosted by Linda Guest, the society’s secretary.

It runs from 10 am to 5 pm on Oct. 20 and 8 am to 2 pm on Oct. 21.
