Helena’s way of applying to Farmer seeks wife is criticized

The autumn season of Farmer Seeks Wife is underway and we get to follow love-thirsty farmers in search of the right one. One of this year’s farmers is ostrich farmer Michael Klingstedt, and in the season premiere we see when he meets his letter writers for the first time. Or yes, when he meets all but one for the first time.

It turns out he met one of them before. The letter writer Helena has already greeted Michael at his farm.

– I went up to him and his farm to get a feel before I applied, Helena explains to TV4.

– He lived so close, a little more than three miles away. The reason I’m looking for a Farmer looking for a wife is precisely because he lives so close, and then of course I wouldn’t have looked for just anyone. If he hadn’t felt well, I wouldn’t have applied, she continues.

Left his letter directly to the farmer

Helena says that it was her nephew who tipped her off that there was a farmer nearby to look for. So she went there to see who Michael was – and a second time she went there to leave her letter.

– He was probably a little surprised, that’s what he said. I thought he blushed a little, but I’m not 100% sure. He probably hadn’t expected that. But he said that it was someone else who had left his letter straight away, says Helena.

And it seems to have been a move that hit home with Michael. Because even before their first speed date on the farm, he describes her as a favorite – and the speed date makes him shout “wow”.

But there are not happy faces from all sides. The letter writer Pia reacts to the fact that Helena has been and delivered her letter in person.

– I don’t think this is okay, I mean I’ve made it all the way from Umeå, Pia says in the program and notes that she doesn’t have the opportunity to do the same thing.

Helena believes that she herself would not have reacted in the same way if the situation had been different.

– If you are the jealous or envious person, I can understand how they think. If it was the other way around, I would never have reacted that way, thought or said that. But we are all different, with different feelings. I don’t attach much importance to such things, says Helena.
