Boy released from Sis home – arrested for murder plans in Haninge

The Stockholm police stopped a car at a residential area in Haninge at 11:30 p.m. last Sunday, according to information given to TV4 Nyheterna.

In the vehicle were three people who, according to the suspects, had planned a shooting and were equipped to kill. The trio was arrested for preparation for murder and aggravated weapons offences.

– I can confirm that all three are still in custody for these crimes, says Robert Damberg, senior district attorney in southern Stockholm.

Prosecutor: Sensitive situation

According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, one of them is a 16-year-old boy who, together with two other young people, was released from Fagared’s Sis home in Lindome on September 21. Even then, the police suspected that they would be used to commit serious gang crimes.

– Among other things, the 16-year-old was seen as a potential “perpetrator”, and now, according to the suspicions, it seems to be true, says a source to TV4 Nyheterna.

When the boy was arrested late Sunday night, he was armed with weapons, according to the same information. It is unknown to TV4 Nyheterna who the target of the suspected murder plans was, but the police see the arrest as having averted what they believe would end in a brutal shooting death.

– It is such a sensitive situation that I do not want to comment on the investigation, says Robert Damberg.

Several reports of concern about the boy

Several people and government employees have previously alerted social services about their concern for the 16-year-old. As recently as last summer, the administrative court decided that the boy should be taken into care according to the LVU, the Act on care of young people.

According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the teenager has previously appeared as a suspect in a high-profile investigation. The police have stated in reports of concern that he is believed to be “part of a criminal network, that he is suspected of serious crimes and that he hangs out with serious criminals in environments where weapons, drugs and violence occur.”

Previously escaped with criminals

Even the municipality’s field assistants have raised the alarm about the 16-year-old after seeing him with criminals and in places “where there is very clear open drug trafficking”. In the administrative court’s document it was written:

“At the site, the field assistants have seen an extremely aggressive new recruitment of children and young people and noted that (the 16-year-old) is one of those who seem to be advancing quickly in that context. The board assesses that (the 16-year-old) is well on his way to developing a criminal identity, which is both expressed through his glorification of crime”.

In the same documents, it also appeared that the 16-year-old was placed in a HVB home earlier this year, but on July 1 was “picked up by criminal persons” and later during the summer was still on the run.

The prosecutor states that he will decide on Wednesday whether the three suspects should be remanded in custody or released.

TV4 Nyheterna has unsuccessfully sought the Stockholm police for a comment.
