The new expansion Rise of the Angry Earth has just been released in New World. In keeping with the release, both the base game and the combination of the game and the expansion are significantly reduced. But the offer only runs for one week.
How much does New World cost? The MMORPG is currently on sale, both on Steam and on Amazon itself:
Actually, the base game still costs 39.99 euros and the new expansion costs 28.99 euros. The offer runs for one week, until October 10th. After that you have to pay higher prices.
What’s also strange is that the new expansion has only been available to purchase since its release today at 6:00 p.m. Pre-ordering was not possible, which led to chaos at launch.
Is it worth buying? New World has been greatly expanded since its release in September 2021. A new area, several new dungeons and associated mutations, new weapons and a revised story are just a small part of what has changed. The leveling process has also been adjusted and is now much more dynamic.
The new seasons also guarantee an update per quarter, each time bringing new features such as story quests, instances and events.
The highlight now is of course the new expansion, which also brings with it an increased level cap and mounts. This also caused queues. However, there are also completely new and previously relatively unpopulated servers that you can now join if you buy the game.
New level cap, new area and mounts
What’s in the new expansion? If you buy the package with the expansion directly, you can look forward to some new content that other players haven’t discovered yet, including:
We have already tried out the mounts and the new dungeon on the test server. The riders, for example, are significantly more dynamic than in WoW, but do not come close to those in Guild Wars 2. Nevertheless, they are a useful innovation that also comes with its own quests and several races.
We’ll give you a more detailed insight into the content in the coming days when we’ve played more ourselves.
But even without the expansion, the MMORPG can be worthwhile. Here the developers reveal what you’re missing out on: New World: Developers reveal what happens if you don’t buy the expansion.
