The King of Spain now formally gives the task to Pedro Sánchez, party leader of the Socialists (PSOE) to form a government in Spain.
That after the conservative Partido Popular (PP) failed to gather enough mandates to form a government.
The PP was the party that received the most votes in the election on July 23, but lacks the necessary majority to form a government.
If even Sánchez fails to gather enough support to form a new government, there will be new elections in Spain, likely sometime in mid-January.
