The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced that three scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics “for experimental methods that produce atomsecond light pulses for the study of electron dynamics in matter.”
“The three winners of the Nobel Prize in Physics 2023 are known for their experiments that provide humanity with new tools to explore the world of electrons inside atoms and molecules,” the statement said. “They have demonstrated a way to create extremely short pulses of light that can be used to measure fast processes in which electrons move or change energy.”
