BIG CONGRATULATIONS: Zlatan Ibrahimovic turns 42 – and reveals a big mistake from his career: “You don’t understand”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a magical career.
But it is one thing he may regret.
But there is an explanation…
– I’m the best, screw everyone else, says Ibrahimovic in a recent interview with Piers Morgan.

Looking back on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s unparalleled career, there can’t be much that he regrets. If you just look at the CV – how many goals he scored, and in which leagues he did it – he is one of the best strikers in modern times. He played in big clubs like Juventus, Inter, Milan, Manchester United and PSG.

Unexpected words

Zlatan Ibrahimovic always had a complicated relationship with the Premier League, and especially the journalists who work around the league. Zlatan was mostly seen in England, mostly because he did not deliver in important moments in the Champions League. Therefore, the uproar was huge once he went to the league, and Manchester United, in 2017. But it could actually have been games in England already at the beginning of his career.

It is widely known that Zlatan Ibrahimovic snubbed Arsenal when he broke through with a bang in Malmö. The reason? Zlatan refused to audition. In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, which has not yet been released but where Morgan himself shared a taste on social media, Zlatan Ibrahimovic doesn’t hold back one bit. He seems to be in good spirits, and says a lot of startling things. Among other things, about the nob of Arsenal, which is Piers Morgan’s favorite team.

“You don’t understand…”

In the clip, Piers Morgan can be heard saying: “There’s only one thing you did wrong in your career…”, and Zlatan is then quick to answer:

– I didn’t go to Arsenal.

Whether Ibrahimovic actually regrets the decision or not is not clear from the short trailer, but he continues to talk about why he snubbed the big club, and coach Arsène Wenger.

– I don’t do trial training. No, no, you don’t understand, I don’t do trial training. I am the best; screw everyone else, he says.

Arsène Wenger hadn’t been at Arsenal very long when Ibrahimovic was asked to join the club, but a few years later he, and Arsenal, entered the history books as the only team to go through an entire Premier League season unbeaten. Wenger has subsequently been asked whether he regrets only offering Ibrahimovic a trial, but he has hit back.

– Not really… He was just a 17-year-old boy who played in Malmö in the second division in Sweden. Nobody knew who he was. We offered trials to a lot of 17-year-olds – it was quite normal to do that before making a decision, he told the BBC in 2020.
