Iskall Mucolli extended Gothenburg’s fine suite

Astrit Selmani’s shirt was torn and referee Fredrik Klitte did not hesitate. He blew quickly and pointed to the penalty spot.

Mucolli coolly placed the ball in Oliver Dovin’s corner.

From the sidelines, replaced due to injury, Jusef Erabi found that his goal in the 53rd minute was not enough for victory.

And that he should have done something better with the free time he got just before leaving the field.

Hammarby’s Jusef Erabi was injured against IFK Gothenburg.

The young striker, one of the series’ most interesting, was noted for his seventh Allsvenskan goal of the season and broke the goal deadlock in a match where IFK Göteborg had the most conviction so far.

When the pyrotechnics settled down with the supporters’ heels and the smoke rose into the October sky, Gothenburg burned most of the best in the way of chance.

Several chances

Adam Carlén’s heavy long-range shot went wide, Kolbeinn Thordarsons hit the top of the crossbar and Oliver Dovin was about to chip in Arbnor Mucolli’s slyly twisted and bouncing finish.

— We do everything right except the goal. We have to be clinical at the chances we get, says Mucolli to Discovery+.

The situation that could have given Gothenburg the lead goal before the break was stopped by Nathaniel Adjei, Hammarby’s centre-back. Colleague Edvin Kurtulus, hit one of several failed plays. Oscar Wendt intercepted the ball, played forward Astrit Selmani in deep.

At the last moment, Adjei covered for a corner – otherwise Thomas Santos would have had the ball in a free position against Oliver Dovin.

The talk of the half was otherwise Simon Strand’s attack on Arbnor Mucolli. Strand punched Mucolli in the neck and tore at his shirt. Neither Fredrik Klitte nor any of his referee colleagues saw the incident.

The replays showed a foul that would have resulted in a red card had it been observed.

“It’s crystal clear what he’s doing and everyone can see it,” says Mucolli to Discovery+.

Seven in a row without a loss

Until the penalty, Mucolli had by far the best equalizing chance, but Dovin saved from close range.

IFK Göteborg’s fine streak since the 0–3 loss away to Norrköping at the beginning of August:

Five wins and two draws giving 17 points. When the crisis knocked hardest on Kamratgården’s doors came the turnaround and the climb up the table.
