Denmark is ready to help Sweden with gang crime if the country requests it, promises Minister of Justice Peter Hummelgaard (S).

There is concern in Denmark about the situation in Sweden, says the minister in a written comment:

“The current situation in Sweden with explosions and shootings on an almost daily basis is deeply worrying, and the government – as well as the police – takes the current situation in Sweden very seriously. We have not received any request from Sweden for help from Denmark”.

If Swedish police come in with a request, Denmark will “of course look at it constructively and positively”, he writes.

Danish police keep up-to-date on the situation in Sweden in order to act preventively. The Danish government has recently presented a new package of measures against gang crime in the country.
