Will Pokémon GO get level 60 soon? Bonuses give coaches hope

Trainers in Pokémon GO have been able to reach a maximum of level 50 for almost 3 years. But the first players want supplies. We have summarized what could indicate that there will soon be more levels here on MeinMMO.

What levels are we talking about? In Pokémon GO, trainers can increase their own level and reach a maximum of level 50 since the end of 2020. The first levels in particular are particularly important, as the trainer level influences how far you can level up your monsters.

Even though our level 50 survey a few days ago showed that only a quarter of participants have now reached the maximum level, some players are already wanting more. And that might not take that long. We’ll explain why below.

What could speak for level 60?

Numerous XP bonuses: In order to level up, you need one thing above all in Pokémon GO: lots of experience points. And these are exactly what Niantic is busy throwing around at the moment, as you can see from the current events and the content of the Plenty of Adventures season.

Among other things, you were able to secure quadruple XP for catching at the two Paldea events at the beginning of September for a full 11 days. The Community Day with Mabula brought you another 3x catch bonus.

During the Psycho event, there were also more experience points on curveball throws. And for the current event, Let’s Get Out, you will also receive triple the points for completing routes.

As a highlight of Season 12, Niantic has also increased the amount of gifts you can open per day to 40 and also doubled the experience points when you level up with your friends. So you get 300,000 XP just for becoming a best friend if you use a lucky egg.

By completing the Master Ball Trial, you can earn an additional 100,000 XP if you complete it by November 21, 2023.

New features: In addition, since the last level expansion 3 years ago, numerous new features have been introduced in Pokémon GO, such as routes, showcases and crypto raids.

While you only need experience points to level up for the first 40 levels, you have to solve additional tasks on the way to level 50. These extend across the various functions in the game and are sometimes quite challenging.

However, the new features have not yet been taken into account. It would be conceivable that these would then be planned for further levels.

This speaks against level expansion

Requirements too high: The YouTuber Spieletrend has also dealt with this topic surrounding level 60 and addresses the numerous XP bonuses in one of his last videos. But although there is something to be said for a level expansion, he currently doesn’t believe in it.

He explains in his video that many players might not reach a new maximum level. The requirements for level 50 are already enormous and, according to gaming trends, these would become more difficult with further levels.

Maximum level for Pokémon: And the maximum level of 100 for Pokémon in other games is not a clear indication for Spieletrend that there will soon be more levels in Pokémon GO.

In Pokémon GO, the level of the individual monsters cannot be clearly identified, but is linked to the trainer level up to level 31. From this level onwards, XL candies can be collected, with which you can push your monsters up to the current maximum.

If you have previously pushed a monster to the maximum possible level and then level up, you can perform two more power-ups on the Pokémon. According to gaming trends, this could indicate that with trainer level 50 there are already 100 Pokémon levels in the game. If the developers focus on this limit, this could also speak against a timely level expansion.

What’s the point of further levels anyway? While at the beginning the trainer levels are directly linked to the Pokémon levels and an increase is therefore important in order to push your own monsters for the fight, this no longer has any influence at higher levels.

However, those who have a high level are currently preferred when rolling out new features. Otherwise there are no other advantages, which is why most players level up based on ambition, prestige and desire for the challenges.

And that’s exactly what further levels would probably bring. Nevertheless, some coaches hope that it will happen soon, as you can read in the comments under the Spieletrend video. But they also have their own ideas about what Niantic could do differently (via youtube.com):

  • zissi100: I would think it would be so great if the “Prestige Mode” came along at some point. Simply press “Prestige” at level 50 and you are then level 1 prestige 1. In addition, with each prestige you simply strengthen the Pokemon by 5%
  • lw6953: I could imagine a trainer level expansion coming without the ability to push the Pokémon any further. This would create an incentive for top players without putting weaker players at a disadvantage.
  • sabrina94luna: It would be possible, I thought the same thing yesterday, that it would soon be possible for a level expansion to 60, because it’s pure madness at the moment with the EP.
  • It remains to be seen whether there will be an expansion in levels soon. If there is more information about this from Niantic, you can find out from us on MeinMMO.

How do you like the numerous XP bonuses lately? Do you think Niantic is planning a level expansion with this? Or do you also think that this is not an issue at the moment? Please let us know in the comments and discuss it with other trainers.

Here we show you how a trainer went from level 43 to 44 without catching a single monster.
