Japan, August retail sales up as expected

Japan August retail sales up as

(Finance) – Retail sales in Japan increased in August. According to what was announced by Ministry of International Trade and Industry (METI), sales rose by 7% on an annual basis, better than the +6.6% estimated by analysts and at the same pace as in July.

On a monthly basis, sales rose by just 0.1% against the +0.4% expected by consensus and 2.2% in July.
