Councilor Hester Assen was critical of the council: “The municipality does a lot, but does not deliver enough,” she said. She was referring to the slow pace at which new houses, temporary or otherwise, are being built. That is the major bottleneck when housing newcomers. In contrast to the PVV, Assen is proud of the way in which Utrecht takes its responsibility and accommodates refugees.
