Season 22 forces players into hardcore challenge even when they’re not ready

In addition to the well-known core activities, Destiny 2 also has new modes that are added each season. While older group activities were kept simple, the new ones are more demanding. Especially when foreign players without a microphone decide on the difficulty.

What challenge is it? It’s about the Altars of Summoning. This is a 3-player activity that was added in Season 22. Players meet, perform rituals, summon opponents and destroy them for Eris.

As easy as it sounds, not everyone has a 3-player squad that you can communicate with via a microphone. A lot of things can be done using LFG, a feature of the Bungie app or third-party sites to find companions for any activity imaginable.

Such group finding is usually designed to find Guardians to quickly complete activities in order to collect loot. For the most part, the use of microphones is avoided because you just want to complete the activities quickly. As good as it sounds, this feature with “randoms” is a pure nightmare for the new activity.

What is the problem? So if you have found a squad, head to the Altars of Summoning. You fight your way through the tasks until you can make an offering and now comes the problem – if you’re unlucky, one of your new colleagues will take the helm and throw in an unsolicited offering.

If it is even a “Powerful Offering”, i.e. one that activates the most difficult level of difficulty, you will now have a big problem. Without a good build and occasional arrangements, the relaxing trip turns into a nightmare.

This system works if you play with a squad you know and is well equipped. But with a group of random players you’ve never seen or heard of in your life, it’s difficult.

How can you avoid such problems? The easiest method would be a headset or using the group chat, then you don’t have to strain your vocal cords unnecessarily. However, it’s even easier if you write down in your LFG post which offering you want to tackle so that the wrong players don’t register.

Without these methods, however, the system becomes a hindrance and usually results in frustrated faces. What experiences have you had with this system so far? Do you think Bungie should expand or change it? Let us find out in the comments!
