Saad Maan, Director of Communications and Public Relations of the Iraqi Ministry of Internal Affairs and Head of the Joint Operations Command Security Media Network, stated in his press release that the number of people who lost their lives in the fire at the wedding hall was 93.
100 PEOPLE WERE INJURED
Stating that 100 people were injured in the fire, Maan noted that the number of people hospitalized was 69.
THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS FIREWORKS
It was learned that there were 800 people in the wedding hall at the time of the fire, which was reported to the press as being caused by fireworks.
ARREST ORDER WILL BE MADE
In the statement made by the Iraqi Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was stated that an arrest warrant was issued for the owners of 4 wedding halls in the Hamdaniye district of Mosul.
HE REQUESTED AN INVESTIGATION TO BE STARTED
On the other hand, Iraqi President Abdullatif Rashid requested an investigation into the wedding hall fire in Mosul.
According to the written statement made by the Iraqi Presidency, Rashid said, “What happened to our children in the Hamdaniye district is a painful tragedy. This incident wounded the hearts of all Iraqis.” he said.
Reşid demanded that an investigation be launched to shed light on the incident.
Footage of the fire breaking out while the bride and groom were dancing at the wedding was also reflected on social media. The images showed people running left and right in panic.
