The appeal of Navalny, who was sentenced to 19 years in prison by the Moscow City Court last August on charges of establishing an extremist organization, financing this organization and organizing protests, was discussed at the Court of Appeals.

The appeal made by Navalny, who attended the hearing online from a prison in the town of Melekhovo in the Vladimir Region, east of Moscow, was rejected and his 19-year prison sentence was approved by the Court of Appeals.

The court also approved the 8-year prison sentence of Daniel Kholodny, who manages one of Navalny’s YouTube channels.
