Jonna Sundling, 28, has completed many amazing races during her career.
But there is one thing that still keeps her awake at night.
– It was very difficult, says Sundling to SVT.
Last season there were few who managed to defeat Jonna Sundling in both the WC and World Cup sprints. Beyond Kristine Stavå’s Ski Citywho made a real boost in his season after the World Cup, it was often Sundling who stood tall on the podium.
Sundling’s best race
Sundling didn’t just do well last season. In total, the 28-year-old has five Olympic and WC gold medals between the years 2021-2023. Östersund residents thus have a lot of good competitions to be proud of.

Despite this, Sundling has no difficulty in choosing his best race in his career.
– My best race is the sprint in the Olympics in Beijing, for sure, she tells SVT.
That’s when Sundling took her only Olympic gold to date, and she did it in superior style. Behind her came the national team colleague Maja Dahlqvist who drove in as second in the finish line.

The crash with Dahlqvist
Sundling also has no major problems with choosing his worst race. However, she has to go back a few more years to find it. It was during the WC in Seefeld 2019. But it still bothers her today.
– The race I regret is when Maja (Dahlqvist) and I hook up in Seefeld. It was very difficult because we all had a very good day there, says Sundling.

At that race, it looked like it would be all Swedish on the podium. But then Sundling crashed into Maja Dalhqvist, breaks the pole in the fall, and has to manage with a pole for the rest of the race. Which, according to herself, was her worst in her career.
However, both Sundling and Dahlqvist got their revenge two years later when they together won gold in the sprint relay during the WC in Oberstdorf 2021.
