The true background to Amityville Horror
The first terrible events took place in the house even before the Lutz family moved in. One year ago Ronald DeFeo Jr. shot and killed six members of his family in the house in Amityville. The background to the crime remains unclear to this day. When the Lutz family moved into the house, they were aware of the bloody history, but were unprepared for what was about to happen.
All family members reported paranormal events over the next few days: things moved, father Lutz woke up at the same time every night and several members saw ghosts. They sought help from a priest, but he abandoned the family after hearing a voice ordering him to leave the house. The police couldn’t help the family either. After After 28 days, the family fled in a night and fog operation, leaving all their belongings behind and never setting foot on the property again.
New Constantin film
The speculation about paranormal activity was preceded by a bloody mass murder.
The reports of the terrible events called a film team from New York’s Channel 5 onto the scene. Also Film crew and parapsychologists told of mysterious incidentsincluding this Warren couple, on whose investigations the films of the Conjuring universe are based. Reporter Laura Didio was also present, but was only able to observe the reactions of her team and the parapsychologists; she herself did not perceive anything supernatural.
A ghost was captured in a photograph
Nevertheless, a famous photo was taken during the investigations, which clearly shows a boy looking out of a room. DiDion confirmed that no children were present during the investigation. The family was accused of making up the story to make money from book and film rights, but George Lutz and his wife never backed down from their story even passed a lie detector test.
Amityville Horror is based on the novel of the same name by Jay Anson, which George Lutz said was very close to the events of that time. It will probably never be proven whether evil spirits are up to mischief or whether there is a marketing ploy behind it. The fact is, the material is made of classic horror shocker was created, which will probably lead to further film adaptations.
