The closed country of North Korea opens its border in its own way. After three years of closed borders, North Korea will allow entry, according to information from state-controlled Chinese media.

The complete isolation was introduced three years ago as an attempt to prevent the spread of the corona pandemic. North Korean citizens were also prevented from entering.

A first sign of increased openness came during leader Kim Jong Un’s recent trip to Russia. North Korea has also allowed athletes to compete in Hanzhou, China.

North Korea has not confirmed a decision, but reportedly foreign visitors will be allowed to enter the country after two days in quarantine.

A Chinese travel agency communicated with prospective customers following the announcement:

“Travel has not yet resumed. Be patient,” the Dandong Strait National Travel Agency wrote on social media.
