The king on site at the landslide outside Stenungsund

Many are affected by the landslide on E6.
On Monday, the King will be there to show support and get a picture of the situation.
– It’s nasty when it happens, but then society comes and supports, he says.

On Monday, King Carl XVI Gustaf will visit Stenungsund due to the extensive landslide.

The purpose of the visit is to show support to the municipality and others who are working to deal with the consequences of the collapse.

– When something dramatic happens, I want to get here and find out what has happened. How people feel. Many people were affected. There were some accidents but thank God
no fatalities, says the King.

– It is extremely lucky that it did not happen in another place, as I said, this was not a densely built-up area, but it is bad enough. It will affect traffic and infrastructure for a long time, he continues.

The minister on site

Infrastructure and housing minister Andreas Carlson (KD) and Sten Tolgfors, governor of Västra Götaland, are also participating in the visit.

– The landslide has had a very large impact on residents in the area. Fortunately, no one was fatally injured, says Carlson.

The landslide that occurred on the night of Saturday led to extensive damage to the E6 and nearby buildings. Several cars drove over the edge created when the road was broken up. Three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
