On Monday, the trial begins against ten people after the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy at a sushi restaurant in the center of Skogå, south of Stockholm, in January.
The crime classifications include murder, aiding and abetting murder and aggravated weapons offences.
According to the indictment, the 15-year-old was murdered by a boy of the same age – who allegedly received 100,000 kroner for the murder.
– It is very absurd how you can see today’s 16-year-old boy standing and posing with bundles of banknotes. This boy probably didn’t know the victim at all, but it was a contract murder, says TV4 Nyheternas crime reporter Therése Cedergren.
– This murder is extremely elaborate and well planned, she continues.
Revenge of the “Kurdish Foxes”
According to the investigation, the murder is seen as revenge for a shooting at a residential building nine days earlier, a shooting that is said to have been aimed at close relatives of Rawa Majid, or the “Kurdish Fox” as he is known.
Chats that the police have come across show how revenge begins to be planned shortly afterwards. Therese Cedergren describes the evidence as good.
– When you read the chats in the preliminary investigation, it is also brutal. “Did he have a girlfriend? Shit the same. I shot him in the head”. It’s very brutal language, like they’re talking about a commodity when it’s a human life.
In the chats, the police have been able to see how the victim is mapped, that weapons are prepared, how acquaintances of the target are engaged to lure him out and that the killer is provided with an apartment to hide in after the crime.
“Please finish him”
Throughout the process, the suspected murderer is instructed how to act and where to go. In the chats you can also see how he is excited about his mission.
“Brother, don’t be stressed, everything is going to be fine,” writes one person. “Brother please finish him off with all the shots,” writes another.
At 6 p.m., the profile that can be linked to the shooter states that he sees the target sitting inside the restaurant.
“Shall I take him in there,” he asks.
“Oh brother. They perfect. Go in and get him”, he gets in response from a person who then sends a heart and continues: “Shoot him in the head and empty all the bullets brother until it runs out”.
The boy accused of murder denies the crime.
