Following Azerbaijan’s successful anti-terrorism operation in Karabakh, many commanders were detained for allegedly planning a coup in Armenia. In the statement made by the Armenian National Security Service, it was stated that the 8 detained commanders cooperated with the armed group that defined themselves as “Patriotic Crusaders” and made preparations for a coup attempt.
A LOT OF AMMUNITION WAS SEIZED
In the statement, it was stated that the members of the organization harbor ideological hostility towards members of the government and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. It was stated in the statement that a large number of weapons and ammunition were seized during the operations, and that “Members of the criminal organization wanted to create pre-conditions for the commission of the crime by acquiring telecommunication devices, signal jamming devices, tools and equipment with their own consent.”

The statement said, “Based on sufficient material data obtained within the framework of the criminal trial, eight members of the criminal organization were detained in case there was reasonable suspicion that they had committed a crime, public criminal prosecution was initiated and a criminal complaint was filed in accordance with Article 43.”
