In Cyberpunk 2077, you can easily miss out on iconic weapons by not doing corresponding quests, overlooking them, or even (accidentally) scrapping them. With the new DLC Phantom Liberty this is no longer a problem, because the black market has all the iconic weapons in stock.
What are Iconic Weapons?
This is how you get the weapons: Phantom Liberty adds a new area to Night City. Dogtown is considered the district where you can get everything you need in terms of weapons. There is also a black market.
This is exactly where there are supposed to be dealers who sell iconic weapons. A tip in the loading screen introduced with Update 2.0 provides an indication of this (via Reddit). It says: “Missed chance to get an iconic weapon? Visit a black market dealer in Dogtown.”
So if you accidentally dismantled iconic weapons or simply couldn’t find them, you can easily buy them with Phantom Liberty. However, we don’t yet know how expensive the weapons will be.
“Does this mean I don’t need guides anymore?”
Users on Reddit are happy about this news. Previously, dozens of guides had to be read to find out how to get certain weapons – or to find out which ones actually existed. With Phantom Liberty, a visit to the black market is enough.
Only the usefulness of the weapons is still in doubt. The iconic weapons are often worse than their basic versions, of which you can always find better ones. You can only find the iconic weapons once.
However, iconic weapons can be upgraded, which significantly improves their stats. But whether they can keep up with weapons you find several levels later remains to be seen. The fans at least want to fill up the collection wall.
