A total of six motorcycle accidents have occurred on various roads in Sweden during the Sunday afternoonof which four in the Stockholm area in just two hours.
– We do not yet know why there have been many accidents in a short time, whether it is the weather or just a coincidence, says Mats Eriksson, the police press spokesperson, to TV4 Nyheterna.
A single accident with a motorbike driver happened at 2 pm in Grödinge, the police write on their website. The driver was taken by ambulance to hospital, and is said to be awake and able to speak, according to the police.
Just an hour later, another traffic accident occurs where a motorbike driver runs off the road after colliding with a car at the height of Iselsta in Grödinge. He is also said to be awake and talking, according to the police.
– There is no connection between the accidents, says Mats Eriksson to TV4 Nyheterna.
The motorcycle has been impounded for a technical examination and the passenger car is being towed from the scene.
On Lidingö in Stockholm, another traffic accident occurs at 1 p.m. A motorcycle and a car collide in Gåshaga on Lidingö. The motorcycle driver is awake and talking but “is in pain” so he is being taken to hospital by ambulance, the police write on their website.
The motorcycle driver is suspected of negligence in traffic.
In Enhörna in Södertälje, a single accident with a motorcycle also occurs. The driver goes by ambulance to the hospital for a check-up. The police draw up a report regarding a traffic offense without any suspicion of a crime, the police write on their website.
Kristianstad
In Bäckaskog in Kristianstad, a motorcyclist has driven off the road.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital by ambulance. The police have no information on the extent of the damage.
Karlsborg
In Skaraborg, a motorcyclist has collided with a moose on road 202, at the height of Forsvik, reports GP.
The MC driver has been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter, according to the newspaper.
– The person in question was lying on the side of the road, says Ulf Seglert of the rescue service, to the newspaper.
