Rauma Luko’s Tarmo Reunanen was kicked out in the league match against KalPa.
A rare event was seen in the ice hockey championship league match between KalPa and Lukko. Lock Tarmo Reunanen received a 5+20 minute penalty in the opening set. At first, the reason for Jäähy was wondered at, for example, during the broadcast of the Jääkekkokierros.
It was initially recorded as the official reason for the punishment. “The reason for the punishment cannot be found in the rule book”. Later, unsportsmanlike behavior became the reason for the suspension.
The hall announcer announced racist behavior as the reason. Lukko also told about it like this in the message service X.
Lukko also published another message in which it emphasized that it does not accept racism in any form.
“It is in the interest of the entire Liiga community that inappropriate behavior stays away from the rink – that’s why the walkout was completely justified. We trust and expect that the League’s disciplinary delegation will deal with the case thoroughly.”
Lukko published a more detailed message, in which it emphasizes that the wording used in the situation is known only to the parties.
In the situation, the players were preparing for the start. The linesman heard Reunanen say something and the jury went into deliberation. The result was Reunanen’s shower command. Luko’s head coach Tomi Lämsa seemed confused.
The ice hockey round follows a round of four matches.
