Salvini meets Greek Transport Minister

(Finance) – Bilateral between the minister of transport Matteo Salvini and his Greek counterpart Christos Komstantinou Staikouras before the work of the informal council of transport ministers scheduled today in Barcelona. It was an opportunity to reiterate the friendship and full collaboration between the two countries.

This was reported in a note from MIT, explaining that Salvini underlined his satisfaction with the involvement of various relevant Italian entities in Greece and in particular: the presence of the FS Group, the tender for the Thessaloniki Metro in which ATM participates, the tender for the purchase of 800 city buses (in which IVECO participates).

Salvini also recalled the importance of Rome’s candidacy for EXPO 2030. The two Ministers explored the topic of railway cooperation also in light of the serious floods that affected Thessaly and shared the opportunity to maintain close coordination on the topic of Maritime ETS which risks having an impact very significant on the competitiveness of European ports. Later, Salvini will meet the French Minister of Transport.
