A tombstone in the Stockholm area may be decorated with the logo of the motorcycle gang Bandidos. The administrative court, after several rounds, has now decided that, reports the Kyrkan newspaper.
In November 2022, the cemetery board in Stockholm approved the tombstone, but a few days later the board withdrew its approval.
The justification was, among other things, that the tombstone went against good grave culture and could be perceived as offensive. The hasty decision to approve the tombstone was explained by the fact that the responsible administrator was not aware that the logo belonged to a criminal gang.
The estate appealed the decision to the county board, which upheld it. But the cemetery board did not give up, but in turn appealed the county board’s decision to the administrative court in Stockholm.
In a few days, the verdict came – the administrative court, like the county administrative board, follows the estate’s line and allows the Bandido-sprayed tombstone.
