The license hunt starts on January 2, 2024 and lasts until February 15, 2024 at the latest. The winter hunt in Örebro County includes a total of twelve wolves in two areas, Tångeråsa and Villingsberg.
– The districts Tångeråsa and Villingsberg are both located in the country’s most wolf-dense area. According to the latest inventory, there is no genetically important wolf in the area. Should it turn out that a genetically important wolf is still in the hunting area, the hunt will be cancelled, says county governor Lena Rådström Baastad in a press release.
She continues:
– The decision is in line with the latest guidelines decided by the wildlife management delegation in Örebro County in the regional management plan for large carnivores.
