Robert Taylor put on quite a show in the MLS round of the North American soccer league. Taylor was on fire with two goals in Inter Miami’s 4–0 crushing win over Toronto FC.
Inter Miami also received some dark news in the match when Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba were injured and sidelined already in the first half. Taylor ran onto the field in the 37th minute to replace Messi, who had just been injured.
Facundo Farias scored the opening goal of the night until Taylor stepped into the spotlight. Taylor gave Inter Miami a 2–0 lead in the 54th minute when he slotted the ball into the bottom left corner. 20 minutes later, Taylor served a pass By Benjamin Cremaschin 3-0 hit.
Taylor capped off a brilliant night when he finished off Inter Miami’s fourth goal with a fine finish. The Finn’s second goal of the evening came in the 87th minute. Taylor was awarded as the best player of the match.
Robert Taylor made headlines earlier in the summer when he sparkled together with Messi, who had moved to the club. Now Taylor showed that the result will come even without the Argentinian star.
Taylor has played 23 MLS matches this season and has now scored four goals.
Representing Minnesota United Teemu Pukki shone in scoring in the away match against Los Angeles Galaxy. Pukki leveled the match at 1-1 in the 19th minute.
Minnesota still had a 3-1 lead after the first half, but LA Galaxy came through and won 4-3.
