ATMs stolen from two Six Nations businesses

Six Nations Police are investigating the theft of automatic teller machines from two area businesses.

Police were notified at about 12:35 am shortly after a break-in and ATM theft at a business on Townline Road in Ohsweken.

“Video footage from the business showed that a dark green older model GMC product truck with a beige strip on the bottom and no tailgate was used,” Six Nations Police said in a media release.

Two suspects, who were dressed all in black and were wearing masks and gloves, were seen approaching the store. They entered the business, removed the ATM and theft.

A day earlier, an ATM was reported stolen from a business on Chiefswood Road.

Six Nations Police were notified of a break-and-enter at about 1:20 am Monday.

Officers arrived on scene and saw extensive damage to the front of the store, but an initial walkthrough seemed to indicate nothing had been stolen.

Later, police received a report that an ATM was missing from inside the store.

Police say witnesses provided a description of an older model truck leaving the area at the time of the incident.

Six Nations police are urging business owners with ATMs inside their stores to be extra cautious.

The investigation continues, and anyone with information or who may have been in the area at the time is asked to call Six Nations Police at 519-445-2811.
