The government expands food aid | SVT News

The UN Food Program (WFP) is acutely short of funds. Now the government is increasing food aid by SEK 239 million – to a total of SEK 1.35 billion.

The money will go to the countries hardest hit by the hunger crisis, which has been exacerbated by Russia’s war in Ukraine, announced the Minister of Aid and Foreign Trade Johan Forssell (M) in a press release.

According to Forssell, more people than ever in the world are suffering from hunger.

– Sweden must help break and reverse this negative development, he says to SVT Nyheter.
