When Frida Karlsson and Thomas Wassberg met there was a lot to talk about.
But Wassberg was hooked on something completely different – namely Karlsson’s phone.
Thomas Wassberg is the icon who to this day is classified as one of cross-country skiing’s absolute greatest of all time. Frida Karlsson is still at the beginning of her career, but has already – to say the least! – managed to make a big impression with success in both the World Cup, as well as in the Tour de Ski, as well as in major championships.
The meeting with Wassberg
Wassberg and Frida Karlsson also happen to have the same sponsor when it comes to what you wear under your boots, and therefore both featured in a commercial for the company a few years ago. Every time two such successful athletes from different generations meet, it’s something very special, and that was the case this time as well.
Frida Karlsson really didn’t hold back when she talked about how much it meant to her to talk to Wassberg.
– It’s really cool to meet Thomas Wassberg to hear about his career, and what the big difference is between you and now, Karlsson said in the commercial.

The question about the phone
But in the video, there is another thing that stands out. Of course, Frida Karlsson had to take a selfie with Wassberg to post on Instagram, and Wassberg stuck to it – with the most clever question that Karlsson asked completely.
– Of course we took a selfie. I showed him my Instagram, but he asked if it might be important, says Karlsson and laughs.
But Frida Karlsson had a good answer to the icon Wassberg.
– I told him that it is a chance for me to show everyone who the real Frida is.
There really are few things more powerful than when the stars of the past meet the stars of today. Respect!
