Fire destroyed a Blenheim garage and damaged a neighboring home early Friday, fire officials say.
Firefighters from Station No. 18 Blenheim and Station No. 14 Erieau called to a Maxwell Street address about 12:30 am found a garage engulfed in flames, a Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue release said.
“Firefighters were able to quickly stop the fire before it spread to the home,” he said. “Crews also worked to protect the nearby neighboring home, which suffered some exterior fire damage.”
Damages are estimated at $250,000, CKFR said, and the cause has not been determined.
The homeowners got out of the home without injury and Chatham-Kent police and victim services were on scene to help them.
