The story of Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) actually ended in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with her death in Avengers 4: Endgame. For the superheroine’s solo film, the plot jumps back in time to… past chapter to tell about their lives.
Many fans are still wondering whether Black Widow could appear again in the MCU or not whether Black Widow 2 is coming. We have some bad news and some good news about this.
No Black Widow 2 hope: Scarlett Johansson will not return to the MCU
Scarlett Johansson stressed that she never wants to return to the Marvel universe in front of the camera as Black Widow. On Gwyneth Paltrow’s podcast she said:
I’m done. The chapter is over. I did everything I had to do. It’s a unique experience to play a character over and over again over a decade.
Despite her gratitude for the MCU opportunity, it’s clear that she’s done with the comic book film universe as an actress. There has also been news from MCU boss Kevin Feige so far no more word on Black Widow 2 And no project of this kind appears in the plan for upcoming films and series.
But that doesn’t mean that Johansson will never have anything to do with the MCU again. Feige and the star are supposed to develop a project togetherwhich the actress then produces behind the camera.
Yelena from Black Widow has an MCU future in at least two forms
Unlike Natasha Romanoff, hers went and continues Foster sister Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) in the MCU even further. The character has already appeared again in the Hawkeye series on Disney+. Yelena is also part of the cast of characters in the upcoming MCU blockbuster Thunderbolts.
The Black Widow and Natasha Romanoff chapter in the MCU is closed. The Marvel heroine’s family story continues in a different way.
