Plane crashed in Brazil, no survivors: 14 people died

The plane crashed in Brazil’s Amazon state. As a result of the crash of EMB-110, a twin-engine turboprop aircraft produced by Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer, 12 passengers and 2 crew members died. It was learned that the plane, which was moving from Manaus, the capital of the Amazonas state, towards the forest town of Barcelos, was close to completing its journey when it crashed.

FALLED DURING LANDING

Amazon Security Secretary Vinicius Almeida said in a statement after the accident: “According to the first information obtained, it was determined that the plane had low visibility due to heavy rain and crashed during its landing in Barcelos.” It was noted that the plane was rented by a businessman engaged in game fishing. An investigation has been launched into the cause of the accident.

September is considered the beginning of the busiest fishing season in the state of Amazonas. The town of Barcelos attracts great attention from visitors interested in fishing, as it is close to many national parks.
