Preventing your own death – this is important in the hard version of WoW Classic. An engineer item saves numerous lives.
The road to level 60 in World of Warcraft Classic is tough. It’s only even harder in the “hardcore” version of the game, where a single death permanently costs your character’s life. Once died, there is no choice but to delete the character.
Therefore, many players try to protect themselves with as many items as possible in order to avoid death in the event of an accident. But hardly anyone can compete with an engineer item.
What item is it about? We are talking about the “target dummy”. This is an item of engineering that, when used, summons a small dummy that immediately taunts and attracts the attention of all nearby enemies. The player Verdidically_ reveals in the subreddit what makes these items so good:
Target dummies are cheap. On [meinem Realm] you can craft them for 8 silver per unit.
They draw aggro almost immediately. The Stoneclaw Totem may take a few seconds to pulse, but the target dummy only takes about 0.5 seconds after you set it up.
They have a huge amount of life points for their level. Keep in mind that you can get them as early as level 14 or so, when normal mobs have between 100 and 200 HP and elite maybe between 400 and 500. The dummies already have 968. […]
Later there are even better dummies that have significantly more life points and can therefore even bind several elite opponents at the same time.
These dummies are often combined with a “hurtfulness potion” so that your own character can run away even faster. This even makes it possible to escape the enemy faction’s nasty local guards – they actually make short work of player characters very quickly.
The community swears by dummies: The general benefit of the dummies in WoW Classic Hardcore is undisputed – if you as an engineer don’t have one of them with you, you’re simply leaving a large security item behind.
