The 2019 drama Bombshell tells the true story of a group of women who… toxic Fox News boss Roger Ailes want to be held accountable after multiple sexual harassment incidents. Also starring is Charlize Theron in the role of real-life Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly and Nicole Kidman as anchor Gretchen Carlson.
On set, Theron disappeared so much behind her character through heavy makeup that it led to a bizarre moment between her and Kidman.
Nicole Kidman didn’t recognize Charlize Theron on the Bombshell set
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Theron spoke about a bombshell incident in which she was not recognized by Kidman and was afraid that her co-star was mad at her:
At one point she walked past me and I thought she was mad at me. I thought: ‘Oh God! What have I done? Did I screw up something in her trailer? Didn’t I say hello nicely?’
However, the unpleasant situation quickly became clear during the conversation:
She just came up to me and said ‘Charlize?’ and then I said, ‘Yeah, are you mad at me?” She said, ‘No, I just didn’t know you were!’
