Last year, 237,400 people were members of the library in the entire province of Utrecht. That is 17.3 percent of the inhabitants. This is an increase compared to the previous year, when the province still had 242,987 members. There appear to be significant regional differences. Eemnes has relatively the most members, where 23.3 percent of residents are members of the library. Nieuwegein is at the bottom of the list with a percentage of 9.8.
