There are expected to be tough rental negotiations during the autumn. The industry organization Fastighetsägarna represents its members in negotiations for 320,000 apartment rents. The demand, that after the turn of the year the rents should rise dramatically in Stockholm and Gothenburg, will be presented during Thursday.
Rising interest rates, increased municipal fees for water and sewage and rising maintenance costs are some of the expenses behind the demand, according to the Property Owners.
“It will be difficult to maintain the properties if the owners cannot compensate for cost increases,” says Rikard Ljunggren, CEO of Fastighetsägarna GFR in Gothenburg.
