A man has been shot in Vasastan in central Stockholm.
– He is injured, but alive, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.
The alarm came in at 9.16 pm on Wednesday evening.
– There are several callers reporting a suspicious shooting on Vanadisvägen in central Stockholm, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.
According to the police, private persons performed CPR at the scene before the man could be taken away by ambulance to hospital.
– He is injured but alive when he leaves the scene.
The police: “A hunt is underway”
There is a large police operation in search of the perpetrator. A police helicopter is circling the area.
– We talked to witnesses at the same time as there is a police hunt for the suspected perpetrator, says Wikdahl.
According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the perpetrator must have run from the scene in the direction of Odenplan.
A preliminary investigation into attempted murder and serious weapons crime has been launched.
No one has been arrested at this time.
